When making prints, it is generally not recommended to directly typeset in Photoshop. First, because the file is large, it is not easy to modify. The second is that if the text is small, there will be small fuzzy edges or jagged edges on the text, which affects the aesthetic effect of the photo inkjet works.
The following situations can be typeset directly in Photoshop.
1. Large format photo printing
If you are making a full picture above 16K, such as covers, posters, posters, promotional pages, etc. The whole picture of the photo printing is a bitmap, with only a small amount of text, and the text size is large (small font size is generally above 12pt), you can directly typeset in Photoshop.
Take an example to illustrate: Expanded to a large 8K cover, which is usually said to be a large 16K cover (folded to a large degree of l6K), completely made in Photoshop layout. The color mode here is CMYK mode. First look at the image size, the width of the size part is 42.6cm, the height is 291cm, and the resolution is 300dpi. The actual net size of Dadu 8K is 42cm × 285cm, where 42.6cm and 29.lcm indicate that the bleeding edge is 3mm around, which is the size containing the bleeding edge. Take a look at the font size, because the text is reversed white, so it is not suitable for fonts like Song type, Song type, thin isoline, thin circle and so on.
2. Printed draft
The inkjet manuscript is thicker than the photo. The ink and inkjet media (light box cloth) are suitable for outdoor advertising. When the production is not very large, it is recommended to increase the resolution, not exceeding 45dpi.
Under normal circumstances, the resolution of the inkjet draft (calculated according to the original large size) is enough. When you need better picture quality, you can set the resolution to 22.5dpi and 45dpi. As another example, the image size setting of a small outdoor light box of 15m × 6m. The color mode here is RGB. As long as inkjet printing does not use a large number of RGB colors that exceed the CMYK color gamut, the actual color reproduction effect of inkjet printing is relatively good. And the file in RGB mode is smaller than CMYK, and the speed of operation and saving is also faster than that in CMYK mode. If the inkjet equipment requires images in CMYK mode, after the production is completed, it is sufficient to switch the mode before performing the inkjet work.
In inkjet manuscripts, especially in large-scale inkjet work, the maximum width or height of Photoshop 7.0 and below can only be set to 30000 pixels. If the resolution is too large, many oversized sizes cannot be set. The problem of saving oversized pictures has been solved in PhotoshopCS and above.
3. Photograph
The indoor light box advertisement screen is suitable for using photo manuscripts. No matter what software is used, it will eventually be converted into a bitmap format, that is, TIF or JPG format. So you can make a photo draft containing text directly in Photoshop. In photo manuscripts, it is generally required that the width of a single screen does not exceed 1.5m (or 1.2m), that is, the net spray screen width of the photo machine. If you need a large-format photo manuscript, such as a 2m × 6m large wall photo, you need to split the screen and spray it on the photo machine separately, and finally splice the pictures.
