Because of its non-polar gene, common polyethylene resin has no adhesiveness with polar materials such as metal, ceramics, and glass, which limits its application range. The new type of binder, a functionalized polyethylene resin, which allows plastics and metals to be bonded together, is one of the hot materials that have been researched and developed at home and abroad in the past 20 years. Because the preparation of the functionalized polyethylene resin is very difficult, severe cross-linking side reactions occur during the preparation process, causing the resin to generate a large amount of gels, which cannot be processed into products again, and at the same time, its performance deteriorates and the use value is lost. At present, only the United States DuPont has solved this technical problem in the world.
Experts believe that the results of the use of pre-irradiation and reactive extrusion prepared functionalized polyethylene resin, not only retains the properties of the original resin, but also gives the polyethylene reactivity, functionality and polarity and other additional properties, its main Technical indicators have reached the international advanced level. At present, this independent research achievement has obtained the national patent authorization.
