Less than 1% of domestic certified wood

It is reported that the EU Wood and Wood Products Regulations are mainly applicable to wood and wood products produced in the EU and imported from countries outside the EU. Among them, the “due diligence” system is the core content of the regulation, which includes three risk management factors, namely information acquisition, risk assessment and risk aversion. FSC certification is a big threshold.

The reporter was informed that it is somewhat difficult to operate the wood as a raw material for 100% legality or FSC certification. It is reported that from a global perspective, only about 10% of the certified wood. As far as China is concerned, less than 1% of the wood is certified on the market. Moreover, the standards of the institution do not recognize each other's standards, which brings great difficulty to the legality.

Imported New Zealand pine, rubber wood, eucalyptus, etc. all hold legal certificates and can withstand inspection. The relevant person in charge of the Shunde Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded enterprises within the jurisdiction that the implementation of the new regulations has a greater tendency to trade barriers. “In order to comply with the new EU directives, relevant furniture manufacturers need to adjust some suppliers and re-select raw materials that meet the certification requirements.
