BASF announced that this new type of plasticizer can be used on standard equipment and will not change the nature of the final product. In order to test whether this plasticizer has the potential to cause dangerous adverse effects and properties, BASF has spent 1 million euros (US$ 970,000).
BASF is currently building a 25kt/a production line in Germany's Ludwigshafen area to produce this new type of plasticizer. Some German manufacturers have also indicated that they will use Hexamoll Dinch plasticizers, and there are some production plans to switch to this plasticizer.
